As the released 2019 market statistics report about bilateral trading between the UK and Turkey by Turkish Ministry of Economy was reached $16.3 Billion and the UK is the 2nd largest export market for Turkey (following Germany). In 2019, Turkey’s exports to the UK were around 11 billion $, and its imports around 5.4 billion dollars. Turkey is one of the target markets for the UK and the UK is a priority market for Turkey. Almost 3000 UK companies have invested in Turkey with a total amount of $9.5 billion.
According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the amount of investments carried out by British firms in Turkey in 2018 amounted to $409 million. The amount of investment made by Turkish companies, which have distribution and sales-oriented representative offices and branches in
the U.K., stood at $323 million during this period.
